Welcome, Helen Bayly, to A Simple Collective!
Born in Santa Cruz, California, Helen Bayly resides in San Francisco where in 2001 she originally moved to study painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. She works as a Sign Painter, Muralist, Gallery Artist and is currently training as an Art Teacher. Bayly’s artwork explores contemporary topics through stylized mythological and religious imagery, primarily painted with monochromatic ink on large-scale paper. Her paintings address issues involving youth culture, hedonism, and concepts around feminine sexuality. In addition to two solo exhibition at LoPo Gallery, her work has been included in exhibitions at 111 Minna, Gallery Heist, The Medicine Agency, Modern Eden Gallery, Space Gallery, Spoke Art Gallery, White Walls, Claude 5 Lane, and the California Academy of Sciences. Bayly’s upcoming exhibitions include Aqua Art Miami, the Yerba Buena Night festival, SOMArts, and Spoke Art Gallery.
