Join A Simple Collective on Saturday, March 16, for a Launch Party and Opening Reception for the group show featuring works by Mark Baugh-Sasaki, Helen Bayly, Susan O’Malley, Tim Roseborough, and Lauren A. Toomer. Artists and members of the collective will be on site to discuss their work and upcoming programs from 6 to 9pm.
Launching a series of shows and events throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area, A Simple Collective celebrates its first exhibition. Presented at our Project Space on Treat and 18th in San Francisco’s Mission District, is a group show of works in sculpture, new media, drawing, painting, and printmaking. The showcase of works by selected members and affiliated artists present a cross-section of A Simple Collective’s programming, including: artists pushing boundaries of scope, scale, medium, and venue; content-driven and project-based works; under-recognized or marginalized artists; alternative means of distribution; subversive, ephemeral, or unsellable art; and artworks that reflect, interact with, or create community.
A Simple Collective is a passionate group of contemporary artists and experienced arts professionals dedicated to supporting access and independence in the arts while promoting the San Francisco Bay Area as a hub of unique and innovative art activity in the international art scene. Our network collaborates to advance each other’s projects, businesses, communities, and ideas through shared skills and resources and acts as a vehicle to foster opportunities for the art community while promoting artists and artworks that are under-represented in the industry.
